David Ortiz appeared on ESPN’s Kay Rod Cast during the New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game on Sunday, and roasted Alex Rodriguez.
The first edition of Sunday Night Baseball featured, unsurprisingly, the Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees series finale. Not only was this the first ESPN Sunday night broadcast, but it was also the debut of the Kay Rod Cast featuring Michael Kay and Alex Rodriguez.
David Ortiz was the first guest on the Kay Rod Cast, and Kay asked the Red Sox legend and impending Baseball Hall of Famer about his relationship with Rodriguez, his partner on MLB on Fox.
That is when Big Papi decided to roast A-Rod.

Ortiz did not spend the entire time roasting Rodriguez, in case you were wondering. They also discussed Ortiz’s upcoming Hall of Fame induction this year and his relationship with Yankees fans.
It was only fitting that the Yankees and Red Sox began the season by facing off against each other. The Yankees officially took the series following a walk off 6-5 win in the 11th inning on Friday and a 4-2 win on Saturday. The Red Sox looked to get their first win of the 2022 season on Sunday Night Baseball.
In case you were wondering what Ortiz’s relationship with Rodriguez was, the Red Sox legend gave you the answer.
